Mismatched cable and hardware sizes turn a simple deck railing upgrade into a return-and-reorder headache.
Yescom USA offers cable railing systems and hardware components, including wire rope, posts, grommets, swage lag screws, tensioners, and washers, for homeowners and contractors building deck, stair, and level railing projects.

The 1/8" 7x7 wire rope braids 7 groups of 7 strands with up to 1760 lbs breaking strength, suited for general deck and railing use. The 3/16" 7x19 wire rope uses an aircraft-grade 7x19 strand construction that is more flexible, with 2284 lbs breaking strength and marine-grade T316 steel for heavier-duty work. Choose the 1/8" cable when pairing it with swage lag screws or a swage tensioner, both of which fit 1/8" cable only.
The 1/8" 7x7 wire rope comes in 500ft and 600ft options, and the 3/16" 7x19 wire rope comes in a single 500ft spool on a plastic reel with grip holes for carrying on site. Each spool can be cut down to any length your run needs.
It depends on your post material. The Rubber Cable Railing Grommets fit most 2x2 and 4x4 metal posts, resisting UV rays, corrosion, and weathering while acting as a barrier between dissimilar metals. The T316 Cable Railing Grommets are stainless steel protector sleeves for wood posts, protecting the wood from cable abrasion at corners, stairs, and transitions. Both fit cable sizes from 1/8" to 3/16".
The Stair Post has an adjustable top bracket that fits stair slopes from 25 to 35 degrees. The Corner Post is a one-post solution with pre-drilled holes on 3 sides, replacing the need for two separate posts at a corner. The Level Post is a structural end or intermediate post for straight, level railing runs. All three are 36 inches tall, made from T304 stainless steel with a rust-resistant, UV-resistant black coating.
Yes. The Stair Post, Corner Post, and Level Post use pre-drilled holes spaced exactly 3.5 inches apart, which meets the standard 4-inch sphere test.
Yes. Each post includes its top bracket, a foot cover, lag screws and concrete anchors for wood or concrete floors, plus self-drilling screws and machine screws for wood or metal handrails, along with an Allen wrench, open end wrench, and user guide.
Two options work for 1/8" cable. The 1/8" Swage Lag Screws work in opposing left- and right-hand threaded pairs, tensioned from the center of the railing outward, working alternately upward and downward so the load stays even. Start with loose cables and increase tension gradually to avoid over-tightening. The T316 Cable Railing Swage Tensioner uses adjustable receivers for the same job on wood or metal posts.
Yes. The T316 Cable Railing Swage Tensioner uses invisible receivers and swage stud ends designed for 1/8" cable, giving a sleek, minimal-visual-impact finish. It suits both horizontal runs and angled installations.
The 1/4" Angled Beveled Washers use a 30-degree angle to provide a flat bearing surface when attaching fittings at angled stair terminations, fitting cable sizes from 1/8" to 3/16". The washers pair with the T316 Cable Railing Swage Tensioner, which uses the same 1/4" threaded stud end.
A cable cutter is needed to cut wire rope to length and is not included with either cable. The 1/8" Swage Lag Screws include a drill bit and wrench, and the T316 Cable Railing Grommets include a drill bit for sizing post holes. The T316 Cable Railing Swage Tensioner needs a hydraulic swaging tool, sold separately.
Yes. The 3/16" 7x19 wire rope is built for marine environments, and the 1/8" Swage Lag Screws and T316 Cable Railing Swage Tensioner are rated for saltwater exposure. The 1/4" Angled Beveled Washers, T316 Cable Railing Grommets, and Rubber Cable Railing Grommets all hold up in coastal conditions. The posts are T304 rather than marine-grade T316.
