Should I buy a non-overflow drain or an overflow drain?

The overflow drain is a plumbing feature that is added to prevent your sink or bathtub from overflowing with water in case of blocked drains. An overflow opening is a small hole drilled in the top of the threaded portion of the drain that allows overflow water from the sink to enter the drain pipe. If your sink features an overflow, it is very important to purchase a drain with an overflow opening so that your sink and drain function properly. If your sink does not feature an overflow hole it needs to be paired with a a drain without overflow. It diverts rising water back to the drain pipe. This helps prevent water from spilling onto your counter or floor, which could result in water damage. While effective, sink overflows are not designed to handle rapidly flowing water. Water will still be rerouted to the drain, but the amount being evacuated likely won't be able to match the quantity filling the basin, so it is recommended to always be present when using your faucet.It improves draining speed. The overflow allows air into the piping so your sink can remove water quickly.

A pop-up drain assembly is a drain that gives you an option to seal your drain to hold water in the sink by simply pushing on it to close and release your drain to drain water out of the sink by simply pushing on it again to open. Pop-up drains are designed to come in two different options 'overflow' or 'non-overflow' openings.
To get a correct drain, please make sure the diameter of the drain hole and hose. For drains we sell, they fit mostly sinks which have 1 1/2'' to 2'' hole. If the diameter of the drain hole is covered by the suitable size, the drain fits the sink. Also, please make sure there is enough room under the sink for placing the end of drain cause a drain usually longer than 6''.

Does your pop-up drain work with a p-trap.

Yes, our pop-up drains work with p-tarp and we strongly recommend all our customers use it. Please make sure the pipe diameter fits the pop-up drain body. It would be better to provide the diameter of our pop-up drain to the p-trap seller or plumber to confirm the compatibility. Or contact our customer service to confirm the compatibility in advance to avoid any unnecessary problem.
P-traps help the natural flow of water by acting as a half-filled reservoir, making activities like flushing and draining happen easier. They help to prevent clogs from forming deeper in the plumbing system, by trapping debris closer to the drain. Also, it could prevent odors generating and keep plumbing system clean

4.What to do if the pop-up drain leaks?

What to do if the pop-up drain leaks?

There are 3 possible leaking spots of a pop-up drain.
1. The gap between pop-up drain and sink.
2. The thread on the pop-up drain.
3. The end of the pop-up drain body.
Troubleshooting:
1. Locate the leaking spot first and it would be better to take a picture or video of it and contact our customer service for assistance.
2. If the spot is the gap between pop-up drain and sink, please make sure if plumber's putty was not used during installing, or plumber's putty was unable to completely seal the gap. Please uninstall and reinstall the pop-up drain. Refer to Answer 1023 and Answe 1025.
3. If the leaking spot is on the thread, please check if the plastic gasket is smooth and attached to the sink. Please take a picture or video of it and contact our customer service for assistance.
