Patio Umbrella: Tips to extend the life of your patio umbrella

Here are a few maintenance tips to keep your umbrella looking and working like new.
1. Fabric Care:
For lighter colored umbrellas, one of the best ways to keep your umbrella fabric in like-new condition is to remove the stains on a monthly basis. If the fabric gets dirty, wipe it off with a towel or a soft bristle brush. It is not recommended to soak the fabric.
For darker colored umbrellas, it is better to use an additional protective spray so it will not fade quickly.
2. Frame/pole Care:
Open or close it gently, do not too be too forceful. For the metal umbrellas that use the hand crank, if it gets stuck, slowly turn the crank clockwise and counterclockwise to ensure it turns smoothly. We also recommend periodically checking whether the pull rope near the top of the umbrella pole is knotted, whether the pulley rotates normally, and whether the pull rope is in the middle of the pulley.
A wooden or metal pole is not designed to be used inside a pool, but can be used near a pool.
If there is an accumulation of mold between the wooden umbrella frame, you can follow the below steps to remove it: (1). Add a teaspoon of soap to a spray bottle filled with water and shake it up. (2). Spray the affected area and use a soft-bristled brush to gently scrub away the mold, sponging up any excess liquid as you clean. (3). Dry the surface completely with a towel and add some some furniture wax in case it gets mold again.
3. General tip:
Close it and use a umbrella cover to protect it when not in use. If you want to store it for next summer, store it in a dry, shaded location. Always make sure it is completely dry before storing it.

We just opened up the umbrella and the solar lighting is not working.

After installing the solar panel, please check whether the solar panel interface is loose, tear off the film on the surface of the solar panel, turn off the switch, and place the umbrella in a sunny place where it will be exposed to the sun for 6-8 hours. When it is dark, turn on the switch again to see if it can light up normally.

How do you attach and remove the solar panel of Umbrella?

1. Install the solar panel onto the top of the umbrella.
2. Rotate the solar panel clockwise to tighten it.
3. Rotate the solar panel in the opposite direction to loosen it.
4. Remove the solar panel from the top of the umbrella.

Does the solar panel need to be plugged in for it to charge? Does it come with a plug in power pack for charging when solar isn't available?

The solar panel does NOT need to be plugged in to the umbrella for it to charge, so you can leave the solar panel in the sun while your umbrella is covered and not in use. The Yescom LED light umbrella does not come with a battery pack to charge the solar panel, but you can buy a 5V 1A USB charger to charge it when solar is not available. After fully charging, it can be used for about 6 hours. You can turn it off when not in use with a switch on one of the ribs. This allows you to use the umbrella multiple times on one charge.
Please note: The solar panel of all our umbrella with light bar has a USB charging port, however, most of the umbrellas with spotted lights do not have a USB charging solar panel. Do you have replacement led lights for Yescom Solar Powered LED Patio Umbrella?

We do not provide replacement led lights since the lights are embedded in the ribs of the patio umbrella. If some of the lights on your umbrella do not light up, you may need to replace the whole umbrella or add removable light strings to provide enough light for your table. If all the lights on your umbrella do not light up after setting up the umbrella, we recommend you check the connection of the solar panel. Make sure the connector has been pushed in completely. Do not forget to charge it and turn on the switch on one of the umbrella ribs.
