What post should I use for sun shade sail?

Metal post or wood post are suitable for sun shade sail. But wood post needs to be solid and at least 4'' dia. For metal post, it does not need to be as coarse as wood post. Steel made post would be fine and it can be hollow. Thickness need to be at least 2mm. To save your time and inconvenience, we have several sizes and colors of post and extension for you to purchase. Also, all necessary accessories are included. I have the link included below:

How to clean the sun shade sail?

The best way is use high pressure water from a power washer to clean it. If customer does not have one, mixing fabric cleaner which could be purchased online with water and spray the mixer on the sail, cleaning it with a brush, then wash with water. Please make sure dry the sun shade sail up soon after cleaning to avoid any mold and getting flimsy.

The shape of sun shade sail is rregular, how much area lost from the listed dimension?

The shading area is not only related to the product, but also to the light source angle. The difference between direct and oblique light cannot provide the specific error.

Is the material of Sun Shade Sail knitted or woven?

The fabric type of our sun shade sail is Knit Fabric. A knit fabric has the below characteristics:
1. Stretchy and flexible. A knit fabric can stretch both in width and length easily.
2. Breathability. It is typically much more breathable than woven fabric, it allows water and hot air to go through.

The sun shade sail is not fire retardant so we do not recommend you put a fire pit under it. A fire pit like wood fire can produce sparks and embers, which can fly out and ignite any combustible materials close by. It's best to use your fire pit in an open area with plenty of ventilation, away from combustible materials.

Does the color of Sun Shade Sail change the UV blocking?

The short answer is No, the difference of blocking UV rays between dark colors and light colors is negligible. Generally, the amount of protection from the UV rays was mainly depending on the material, density, and coatings applied. Higher density ratio could offer greater protection against UV rays. The material and density of our sun shade are same, they can provide up to 97% UV protection.

What is the GSM rating of your sun shade sail?

GSM means "Grams per Square Meter', the higher the GSM, the denser the fabric will be, which means it will provide higher UV protection. Our sun shade sails are range from 160gsm to 185gsm, the 185gsm sun shade sails can effectively block 97% of harmful UV ray and they are long lasting during summers.

How long can your sun shade sail last for?

In most cases, if a sun shade sail has been installed properly and well maintained, it can last 3-5 years. The life span will be effected by environment, climate, and weather, etc. If your area has strong winds or storms frequently, the sun shade sail may not last through its expected lifespan. To lengthen the life of a sun shade sail, you need to ensure the sun shade sail has been installed properly. And if there are severe rains or strong gusts, it is recommended to remove the sun shade sail and store it until the weather becomes better.

Why do sun shade sails have curves in the sides?

The sides of sun shade sails are curved, which is an essential design element. Curves allow for the sun shade sails to be installed and tensioned properly. If the sun shade sails are not installed and tensioned properly, it may shorten the life of the sun shade sails.
