Yescomusa: How to Keep Your Pool Clean With Little Effort
Pool Cleaning Tips
Having your own pool in your backyard sounds luxurious- especially during the super hot summer months. Whether you’re having fun, planning your summer pool party, setting up your backyard for your children’s summer vacation, or adding pool swimming to your exercise routine, your pool needs to be clean. A dirty pool can cause illness, give off foul odors, and attract unwanted wildlife.
If you risk swimming in a dirty pool then you are putting yourself in danger. Yescomusa is here to help you have a productive, fun summer by helping you keep your pool crystal clear.
Check The Water Quality
Great water quality is essential to the health of your pool and your family. Make sure that you test the water quality often. Chlorine levels need to be consistent at all times in order for your pool to remain healthy. If the balance is uneven, the water will get murky and dangerous to swim in.
Get the Right Filter
Your water’s health is based on the power of your filter. Not only must your filter be strong enough to move all of the water in your pool but it must be precise enough to filter out any impurities. Be sure to keep your pool filter clean so that it can work properly. It is a good idea to clean your filter after a heavy storm or at least once every 3-6 months.
Skim and Scrub
Skimming is one of if not the most important practice to keep your pool clean. Skimming removes the leaves and any other type of debris from the surface of your pool. Depending on where you live or the location of your pool you may need to clean your pool every day. Thankfully, there is no need to scrub or brush your pool daily. Scrubbing your pool weekly, or even monthly will help you keep it clean.
The Dangers of a Dirty Pool
If your eyes get red after entering the pool, chlorine may not be the culprit. Sweat and urine can mix with chlorine and create a cesspool full of chemical irritants. A dirty pool will not only irritate your eyes but can cause diarrhea, skin infections, and stomach problems. Keeping your pool clean is the best way to avoid getting sick but adding chlorine may not be enough. Here are some other illnesses you can get from swimming in a dirty pool:
Cryptosporidium. Unfortunately, crypto tends to be resistant to chlorine than other sicknesses. Crypto can live inside of a clean pool for days without the owner noticing. If crypto goes untreated it can cause diarrhea that can last for weeks.
Giardia. These living parasites are known for causing gastrointestinal distress. At its worst, giardia can inflect vomiting, bloating, consistent diarrhea, and weight loss. Symptoms of giardia can show up weeks after the infection and last up to 3 weeks.
E.Coli. The most common infection in pools is E.Coli. This is caused by fecal matter of both animals and humans alike. If E.Coli is swallowed in the pool water then it can cause gastric problems including bloody diarrhea and even kidney failure.
Salmonella. Like E.Coli, salmonella can be passed through human and animal feces and has similar systems.
Hepatitis A. Hepatitis is a huge concern for owners of swimming pools and those who use them. If you swallow contaminated water you can catch jaundiced skin, dark urine, an upset stomach, vomiting, and fevers.
